You have relationships with several people, some of whom you trust and some you do not.

Likely, you haven’t given much thought to the process through which you judge whether or not someone can be trusted.

Several actions you can do, depending on how worried you are, will help improve others’ perceptions of your level of trustworthiness.

1. Be Predictable. It is difficult to feel comfortable with someone unpredictable and even more challenging to rely on that person.

• People perceive you as more trustworthy when they can anticipate your mood and behavior.

3. Refrain from Making Comments about Other People. People are aware that if you enjoy talking about other people, it won’t be long before you start talking about them as well.

It is in your best interest to minimize the amount of time you spend talking negatively about other people, even if the things you have to say are true.

It’s never a good idea to spread rumors or negativity about other people. It frequently reappears to torment you in some way.

It’s easy to give in to the temptation of spreading delicious gossip. When someone is able to keep a secret, we automatically put more faith in them in many other situations.
