You can find trees like this with their roots properly covered to preserve them, or you can find them in a huge container.

They’ll be a little heavier, so keep an eye on your back as you lift them. After the celebration, you can include the tree in your landscaping.

If it isn’t an option, consider purchasing an organically-grown tree. There are tree merchants who do not encourage the use of pesticides on their trees.

Go Green with Christmas Lights and Decorations!

When it comes time to put the lights on the tree, decorate it with the LED lights that are now available.

LED lights are virtually indistinguishable from traditional lights in terms of appearance, yet they assist in conserving the earth’s energy by conserving power.

Decorate the tree with recycled ornaments. The youngsters can help by making ornaments out of items found around the house.

Enjoy your outside Christmas displays, but make sure to install a timer to turn the lights off at a predetermined time.

How to Shop and Stay Green!

When it comes time to start making your Christmas list, make sure to bring reusable shopping bags with you and leave the plastic ones at home.

Make sure to purchase gifts that do not require additional accessories.

Don’t use store-bought wrapping paper to wrap the things you did buy. Instead, make your own paper.

Use pages from last year’s calendar, brown paper bags embellished with cut-out designs, or colorful newspaper inserts.

You can also use fabric that you’ve stitched together to wrap your Christmas gifts instead of paper. Tie the top with a jute string and a holly sprig.

Make Your Christmas Gifts!

Not every gift has to be purchased from a store. Homemade presents are some of the best.

Loaves of bread, jellies, crocheted blankets, and hand-knitted sweaters are all excellent gifts that do not contribute to landfill garbage.

Regifted gifts are much better than homemade ones. If you have a gift that you don’t want or can’t use, package it and give it to someone who would love it.
