<p>When you have goals you can <strong>plot the direction you want to take</strong> as a way to improve your life.</p>
<p>When you start accomplishing goals, no matter how big or how small, you will <strong>find you are more satisfied with life</strong> and your stress level is reduced.</p>
<h3>Breaking the Stress Cycle by Planning for the Future</h3>

<p>This is also an opportunity to take a <strong>look at your strengths and abilities</strong> that you may have forgotten when it comes to experiences in the past.</p>
<p>You will want to have a second poster board so that you can <strong>create a future timeline</strong>. This is where you can plan for the life you really want.</p>
<p>Make lines for one to five years on the poster board and then for each of the next five years as far into the future as you want to go.</p>
<p><strong>This is your opportunity to dream</strong>. Nothing should be ruled out. If money or time was not an obstacle, what kind of life would you want to have?</p>
<p>It is a good idea to hang both poster boards side by side on a wall and spend some time over the next week or so paying<strong> attention to what you have written</strong>.</p>
<p>As you take time to look over the ideas for the future, you may find that you focus on one or two areas of your life that you want to work on.</p>
