<p><strong>We judge how well we do by how much we get done in a day or week.</strong></p>
<p>Sadly, when we focus on results, we lose sight of how well we do things.</p>
<p>We care more about what we will do than how we will do it, in other words. It makes you want to be perfect, which comes from fear.</p>

<p>However, true freedom is difficult to achieve without financial security.</p>
<p>Given the significance of money in today&#8217;s culture, individuals must set financial goals.</p>
<p><strong>2. Career.</strong> Most of us work more than 40 hours every week. It accounts for a significant portion of our waking hours.</p>
<p>When you factor in getting ready for work, traveling there and back, and all of the time spent outside of work thinking about work, it adds up to a lot of hours.</p>
<p>The workplace is highly competitive. If you don&#8217;t have any career-related goals, you&#8217;re considerably less likely to be satisfied with your progress.</p>
<p><strong>3. Adventure.</strong> Deep down, we all respect individuals who visit Egypt&#8217;s pyramids, try whitewater rafting, or go on safari.</p>
<p>Participating in daring activities broadens your view of life. It also makes you more interesting to others!</p>
<p>Perceptions of adventure vary among individuals.</p>
<p>One person may consider skydiving, while another may consider spending a long weekend in a faraway nation such as Australia.</p>

<li>Learn to garden.</li>
<li>Learn how to perform a cartwheel.</li>
<li>Learn to paint or draw.</li>

<p><strong>5. Health.</strong> If your health fails you, little else matters. Most people who set objectives do not include any health goal. This was a mistake.</p>
<p>Include a dietary or exercise goal. Include your physician&#8217;s input. Keep in mind that being really fit does not increase your longevity.</p>
<p>Moderate exercises done consistently usually provide appropriate exercise.</p>
<p><strong>6. Long-term Goals.</strong> We frequently make the mistake of focusing solely on short-term goals to alleviate our current misery.</p>
<p>It could be coming up with an extra $500 this month or losing 15 pounds.</p>
<p>Short-term goals should help us achieve long-term goals. Pursuing a long-term goal adds purpose to your life.</p>

<p>The diagnosis comes back positive. The job is gone. The person we trusted walks away.</p>
<p>We search for something to grab onto, something we can still control, and find nothing but chaos.</p>
<p>But here’s the truth I’ve learned, often through pain: you can’t always change your circumstances,<strong> but you can always choose your response</strong>.</p>
<p>That choice, that quiet, defiant choice, is your greatest power.</p>
<h3>The Moment That Taught Me</h3>
<p>Several years ago, I went through a season that broke me open. Everything I had built felt like it was crumbling: work, relationships, even my health.</p>
<p>I remember sitting in my car one day, parked in front of a grocery store, unable to move. I had no control over what had happened and no idea how to fix it.</p>
<p>Then, I remembered something I once read, a quote from Viktor Frankl, the Holocaust survivor and psychiatrist who wrote <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Mans-Search-Meaning-Viktor-Frankl/dp/0807014273?tag=createthebestlife-20&#038;ref_=as_li_ss_tl&#038;linkCode=sl1&#038;linkId=e4bd6094d3a8e640502e4615931c0c31" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" data-lasso-id="1502" data-lasso-name="Man&#039;s Search for Meaning" data-lasso-lid="7147"><span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;">Man’s Search for Meaning</span></a>:</p>
<p><strong>“<em>Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances</em>.”</strong></p>
<p>That line hit me differently that day. Frankl had endured unimaginable suffering, yet even he believed that attitude was the final, unstealable freedom.</p>
<p>I realized that while I couldn’t rewrite what was happening, I could rewrite how I faced it.</p>
<p>So, I chose, slowly, imperfectly, to respond with courage instead of despair.</p>
<p>To look for meaning instead of blame. To wake up and say, &#8220;<em>This isn&#8217;t what I wanted, but I still get to choose who I am</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>That choice didn’t change my circumstances overnight. But it changed me. And that changed everything.</p>

<p>When we lack self-confidence, we can feel like we don&#8217;t have anything valuable to contribute. This can affect our jobs, relationships, or anything we are <strong>trying to accomplish</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>I am a complete failure.</strong></p>
<p>No one is a complete failure. Yes, we can fail at something, but that <strong>doesn&#8217;t make us a failure</strong>. When we feel this way, we take a blow to our self-confidence and self-esteem.</p>
<p><strong>I could never do that.</strong></p>
<p>If you follow social media, you probably see people on Instagram posting images of their successful lifestyle. Are you wishing that you were?</p>

<p>If you are trying to obtain that lifestyle and believing you can&#8217;t, you are only making yourself depressed.</p>

<li><strong>Katy Perry: </strong>Although today she is a very successful singer, her first album sold a measly two hundred copies. She was dropped by two labels after her first label went out of business. It took her ten years to be a success with her hit song, <em>I Kissed a Girl</em>!</li>
<li><strong>Oprah Winfrey: </strong>She grew up in poverty. She was abused as a child and got pregnant at fourteen. The baby died shortly after birth. She was fired from her first TV job for being unfit for television.</li>
