<p>While everyone&#8217;s tolerance for stress varies, you may significantly <strong>improve your capacity to remain calm</strong> in any situation.</p>
<h3>Control Your Response to Stress Using These Strategies:</h3>
<p><strong>1. Maintain a Cheerful Attitude.</strong> In most circumstances, nothing horrible will occur that you cannot handle. There&#8217;s always another job interview, another person to date, and another chance on the horizon.</p>
<p><strong>2. Create an Alter Ego.</strong> Imagine the best version of yourself. This person would most likely be brave, tough, and unflappable, among many other characteristics.</p>
<p>When presented with a stressful situation, picture your ideal self handling it and act accordingly.</p>
<p>Over time, you will become more like the ideal version of yourself.</p>
<p><strong>3. Respond Slowly.</strong> People who are calm and cool tend to respond slowly. They move slowly.</p>
<p>Take a few breaths and confidently respond to the person or situation. Taking the time to react is relaxing.</p>

<p><strong>8. Relax and Take Long Breaths.</strong> Relaxing your muscles and breathing deeply can help to short-circuit your body&#8217;s stress response.</p>
<p>This skill requires practice. First, you need to remember to do it. Second, spend a moment to concentrate your thoughts on your breathing and muscles. As a result, when performing these exercises, you will need to temporarily forget about your current position.</p>
