New Year, New You

Many people make New Year’s resolutions to do something different in the coming year.

While that may seem convenient, you don’t have to wait until January 1^st to start over in life.

At one time, calendars were based on the lunar or moon cycle.  The new year started in the spring, officially March 25^th, when planting season began.

There have been many different calendars in the past, and some cultures still use a rotating calendar today.

You can choose any time of year to start over in life.  Your new year begins with you and the changes you make to create the best life.

You can start over on January 1^st if you like, but you can also choose your birthday month, the start of a new season, or any day you want.

Not All Endings Are Bad

Another reason to start over in life is that something is ending. Not all endings are bad.

Finishing high school and starting over as a college student, or even leaving your current job for a promotion are all reasons to start over.

You could be buying a bigger house because your family is getting large which is another good reason to start over.

You very well may feel some sadness at leaving your old life. However, there are positive reasons for starting over.

As the flowers or fruit leave the plant, new seeds spread to grow more plants.

During each stage in a plant’s life, it starts over to reach its mission.  In your life, change helps you grow and reach your goal.

Are you living your best life? Are you who you want to be?  Another reason for starting over in life is to become balanced and peaceful.

Many studies show that gratitude, volunteering, and self-esteem all play a part in living your best life.

If you are ready to change, improving yourself and your life is a positive reason to start over.

Whatever change or challenge you are facing, starting over is your opportunity to learn and grow.

Who do you admire? Most likely, it’s someone who seems to know what and how to do things.

Remember playing with modeling clay or drawing as a child?
