If you have this disorder, you can have really bad symptoms and even damage to your digestive system.

Celiac disease can make your skin hurt and make you tired, among other things. Here are some of the most typical signs to look out for:

  • Diarrhea and constipation: Inflammation in the small intestine is prevalent, and so are smelly bowel motions and a lot of pain. Fatigue: People with celiac disease often feel fatigued. This is because of things like chronic pain and trouble sleeping.
  • Skin problems: Blistering psoriasis, alopecia, and chronic urticaria are all frequent.
  • Anxiety and depression: People who have trouble with their digestion are more likely to have problems with anxiety and depression.
  • Iron-deficiency anemia: This illness can bring its own symptoms, notably pale skin, weariness, and shortness of breath.
  • Sudden weight loss: Not being able to properly digest meals can cause weight loss.
  • Joint and muscle pain: People with celiac disease may occasionally experience joint and muscle pain due to sensory neurons.
  • Numbness in the legs or arms: This is a common symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Signs of Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity

If you are sensitive to gluten but don’t have celiac disease, your symptoms may not be as bad.

If you have any of the following difficulties when you eat gluten, it’s recommended to talk to a doctor:

  • Bloating: People who can’t handle gluten often get bloated because their bodies can’t break down the protein properly.
  • Diarrhea and constipation: Eating foods that contain gluten can often cause these problems.
  • Stomach ache: Abdominal pain is a very common problem with many possible causes, but it is often linked to gluten problems.
  • Headaches: A lot of people who can’t eat gluten get headaches and migraines. Research shows that gluten intolerance can make these problems happen more often.
  • Tiredness: It’s normal to feel tired, and it’s not usually tied to a specific illness. But if you are severely fatigued, you should look into the possibilities of other causes.
  • Depression and anxiety: People with gluten intolerance often feel depressed and anxious when they are in a lot of pain or discomfort.
  • Brain fog: After eating gluten, some people with gluten intolerance have trouble focusing on certain things or tasks. This is what people call “brain fog.”

Signs of a Wheat Allergy

A sensitivity is not the same as an allergy. When your body reacts badly to a given substance, your immune system responds by causing an allergic reaction.

If you have a wheat allergy, you should avoid wheat at all costs, as it could kill you.

Some signs of a wheat allergy are:

  • Skin rashes: Rashes and itching are common reactions to many types of allergies, including wheat allergies. Hives and redness may also be prevalent.
  • Digestive problems: People who are allergic to wheat often experience cramps, discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
    A runny nose, stuffy nose, or sneezing can all be indicators of a wheat allergy, especially if you have a condition called “Baker’s asthma.”
  • Anaphylaxis: This is an extremely serious type of allergic reaction that can be deadly. It often causes a range of symptoms, including swelling and difficulty breathing.

It can be quite hard to deal with any of the three conditions stated above on your own, and some are more dangerous than others.
